The Jam - Townhouse Studios
Sheperd’s Bush, London - 30/8/1979
This was a commissioned job for ’Sounds’ Magazine. It was my first,’non-live’ commission, and I was nervous. The interview with Paul was sitting at a table outside a pub, so I was only getting the top half of his body they were boring pix and he was squinting in the bright midday sunshine on top of that I was shooting at 400asa, I hadn’t heard of FP4 film,’cos previous to that, I’d only shot onstage photos.....it was a sharp learning curve. Fortunately, he agreed to do a few group shots inside the studio where they were recording ’Setting Sons’ with Vic Coppersmith-Heaven.
