Justin Thomas

Music Photographer

Justin Thomas has spent over 35 years working as a music photographer documenting Punk, Rock 'n' Roll, and Britpop history through his pictures. His stunning exhibition "When You Hear The Music Trouble Disappear" features a treasure trove of unseen images featuring the Music World's most acclaimed talent.

Hosted at Graffik Gallery on Portobello Road it begins in the late seventies and displays behind the scenes portraits and the on-stage theatrics of the biggest stars  such as The Clash,  The Rolling Stones.Stevie Wonder/Marvin Gaye/Diana Ross,Prince,Led Zeppelin,Bob Marley and the Sex Pistols.
In later years he also photographed bands such as Nirvana, The Stone Roses, Blur,Michael Jackson,Madonna and Oasis. From pure punk, through Rock 'n' Roll and the birth of Britpop he was there.

'When You Hear The Music Trouble Disappear' explores the dramatic developments of music and culture, and their lasting impact that continues to live in our memories today.
My thanks to Ollie and everybody at Graffik Gallery for writing this and for making the exhibition such a success....talks are afoot for an exhibition of my Notting Hill Carnival photos later this year!
